Job Title: Childcare Director (Ann W. Wickman Child Development Center)
Position: Exempt Salaried: Range $24,000 - $37,000
Reports to: Executive Director Page: 1 of 2

GENERAL FUNCTION
Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA child care program(s).
Essential Functions:
- 1. Manages, directs and coordinates the child care programs for assigned location(s). Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities as needed. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- 2. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- 3. Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected.
- 4. Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
- 5. Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment.
- 6. Develops and maintains relationships with state child care licensing agency, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- 7. Provides staff leadership for annual fund raising campaign and committees as assigned.
- 8. Maintains proper records/department files.
- 9. Organizes special events for parents. Assists in YMCA fund raising activities.
- 10. Provides staff leadership to the child development center committee and reports to the YMCA Board as needed.
- 11. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- 12. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
- 13. Performs welcome center duties and direct care as needed.

Qualifications:
- 1. Bachelor's degree in related field or combination of equivalent training and experience.
- 2. One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator or supervisor of child care programs.
- 3. Must be 21 years of age.
- 4. Completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
- 5. Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program specific certifications.
Physical Demands:
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise children's activities.

Job Title: Childcare Teacher
Position: Non-exempt; hourly wage range $7.25 - $10.00
Reports to: Childcare Director Revision Date: 10-19-2009
General Function:
Provides direction for the program and staff, and implements program curriculum in the classroom. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Essential Functions:
- 1. Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
- 2. Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
- 3. Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
- 4. Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
- 5. Conducts parent conferences, maintains communication with parents, and engages parents as volunteers.
- 6. Maintains program site and equipment.
- 7. Maintains required program records.
- 8. Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.

Qualifications:
- 1. High school diploma, ability to complete para-educator training.
- 2. At least 19 years of age.
- 3. CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
- 4. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
- 5. Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities
- 6. Previous experience with diverse populations.
Physical Demands:
Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities.
